The Heartbake: Chocolate Loaf

Hey there and welcome to the ninth entry of The Heartbake: Baking My Way Through Heartbreak!

This week was filled with lots of tears! I cried probably about three times this week which is definitely not normal for me.

I definitely miss my ex-boyfriend. I miss the way we could laugh together and go on little adventures. I know that whatever happens in the future I will always be able to look back on our memories and only think of how happy I was, but it’s hard to be in this stage of sadness right now.

I can’t wait to see what the future holds and I try to keep in mind that things can only go up from here. This week I made a delicious Chocolate Loaf. I hope you enjoy! Thank you and remember, Stay Tasty!💜😋

Ingredients:

  • 1 3/4 cup of all purpose flour
  • 1 cup of granulated sugar
  • 2/3 cup of cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup of milk
  • 3/4 cup of sour cream
  • 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups of chocolate chips

Directions:

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F
  • Prepare a loaf pan (my pan is 8.5 inches) with parchment and grease.
  • In a large bowl or a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Add in the eggs and mix until smooth.
  • Pour in the milk, sour cream, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract and mix until completely combined.
  • Stir in the chocolate chips by hand.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  • Bake for 58-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle of the loaf comes out clean.
  • Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before taking it out and letting it finish cooling on a rack.
  • Enjoy!
